Ongoing projects:
- Definition of the Minimal Vital Flow of the Oglio River (Northern Italy). This project started in 2009 and a first step was concluded in 2011. Now the second step of the project is based on monthly (for hydrochemical parameters) and seasonal (for biological parameters; macrophytes and macroinvertebrates) experimental campaigns. This project is financed by the Oglio Consortium.
- Limnological research on Idro lake for water quality recovery. This project started in 2010 and aims to evaluate the ecological and environmental status of Idro lake, to study processes that influence water quality and to analyze different management options for recovering of water quality and restoring lake functionality. Funded by Lombardy Region.
- Monitoring of the evolution of physico-chemical parameters and nutrient loads in some quarry lakes of the Po river plain (located in Parma and Piacenza Provinces). Funded by private companies.
- In November 2014 started a new project with the aim to define the nutrient loads in the Po River Basin during base flow and flood events, in collaboration with the Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology of the University of Ferrara. This project is funded by the Lombardy Region.
- Partecipation to the european project "LIFE BARBIE". The project mainly aims to preserve and restore native populations of Barbus meridionalis and Barbus plebejus in fourteen Natura2000 sites of Emilia Romagna (Northern Italy) distributed along a wide geographic area stretching from the Apennines to the Po plain.
- Next Data Life Watch. Patterns of ecosystem fragility to alien and invasive species (in Europe).
- Establishment of the Italian Nitrogen Network (INN) in collaboration with the Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology of the University of Ferrara.
- Collaboration with CNR-IREA which is a partner of the Project FP7 - INFORM - Improved monitoring and forecasting of ecological status of European INland waters by combining Future earth ObseRvation data and Models
